Tama is expanding its offering of Star snare drums by three exceptional solid wood models made of Zebrawood and Spruce. These new snare drums have a 14" x 6" shell that is 7 mm thick and features 7 mm Sound Focus Rings. An inlay on the outside of the shell gives these drums a particularly noble appearance. The snares are equipped with 8-hole die-cast hoops, One-Piece Lugs, a Linear Drive snare strainer and Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snares.
The Solid Zebrawood model is available in a dark gray (Charcoal Zebrawood Burst) or dark blue finish (Indigo Zebrawood Burst) and provides a dry, sensitive voice as well as quick, articulate response. The Solid Spruce model with its Oiled Natural Spruce finish has quite a unique character of sound among all snares which Tama has ever made. It offers an extra soft attack with fabulous open tone. Sound Focus Rings made of same wood add the volume, and rich resonance for this special snare drum.
